totally random
working.. is .. sometimes so anal..
u know, working is anal.
but it gets more anal when its a whole-day-stay-in-office kinda job.
and its more anal when u DONT HAVE A TABLE ON YOUR OWN.
imagine this.
you are using this table.
this office desk of yours is your company for the 1.5 weeks or so.
THEN 2 new girls come.
they are PERMANENT staff.
and so apparently they get the privilege of getting a desk.
the problem is, there is only a place available.
do the math, that means 1 is without a table.
so that means me, a paltry temp staff have to give mine up, for the greater
good of the company.
when i mean greater good of the company, i meant that apparently perm staff is that useful to the company that i am like an ornament in the office,
moving around when ever theres a slightest need.
inshort, im an easy solution for any inkling of trouble in the dept.
so, i have to sit beside a fellow colleague of mine.
what is a desk?
is a desk made for more than 1?
if it were, it wouldnt be called a desk, but perhaps, by a fancier name of "Community Desk".
so the 'eureka' solution of the company would be to seat me in the desk with a fellow colleague.
so smart.
i totally appreciate the ingenuity of the solution.
such a wonderful solution.
cramp 2 person in a desk.
and productivity would remain the same!
sorry. the world is not idealistic.
i get affected when i have to uproot myself.
my colleague get affected when suddenly someone squeezes in beside her.
anyway i brought this up to the manager, and hes a nice guy.
really. not being sarcastic.
he said that if there were a desk, i would have been allocated to it already.
but unfortunately there was none at the moment.
but a room infront of the department is unused 99% of the time..
and i heard that a temp staff once occupied that room for his/her work...
but then again, even the manager doesnt have an office, or a room of his own..
so how can i a temp, ever dream of sitting in a room?
i can choose to think that way.
my colleagues can think that way
but they do not.
thats the saving grace.
nice colleagues in my dept but 1.
nice boss.
what more can i ask for?
a desk.
