Its 9am.
I was on the way to a tutorial class, when i felt hunger pangs.
As i was passing by the foodcourt, or if you would like, a canteen, i decided to spare 5 mins of my time to go buy some nuggets.
I then sat down on one of the 2 seater tables, put my Corporate Finance textbook on it, with my bag on top of my beloved purple book.
I enjoyed by nuggets, then laboured my way through the stairs, and reached the classroom.
Lesson started at 9.15am, and i started paying attention to what was being taught.
at 11am, lessons stopped.
i THOUGHT my CF book was underneath the table.
i wanted to take it along with me to my CF class.
i felt for its cold and somewhat soothing touch.
I WAS WRONG.
I FELT THE COLD BLAST OF WIND FROM THE AIR-CONDITIONER UNDER THE TABLE.
HORROR OF HORRORS!
MY CF TEXTBOOK IS GONE!
and it took me some 2 hours to REALISE IT.
somehow i forgotten about the CF textbook.
and so, i rushed down to the canteen, hoping that the book is still there, even though i know its probably a lost cause.
its really gone.
i was somewhat sad, but somewhat expected this scenario.
i thought i'd better do some asking around.
wee. 2 cleaner aunties were working together closeby, clearing the plates that we students leave behind.
"Auntie, ni you mei you kan dao yi ben zi se de shu?"
"You. dan shi wor mei you jian qi lai. ying wei wor yi wei shi shue sen de suo yi mei you na."
diao.
yeah, i was asking her if she had seen a purple coloured book infront of the nasi padang stall.
she said yes, but didnt pick it up, thinking that students sometime leave belongings behind to reserve a seat or something.
and she added that the book is expensive.
she made sense. sort of adding salt to my open wound. but yes. it was, is, and WILL BE expensive if i were to buy it again.
i knew that it was hopeless. but i just wanted to try.
so i went to the girl sitting near the table where i last parted with my CF book, and i expected her answer, no.
i went to the SB office. and NO. ITS NOT THERE!
ARGH.
wtf. next week is the last week of sch, following which is the study week, THEN EXAM WEEK.
AND I LOST IT NOW.
o well, i think i'd do better to borrow a copy from the library and photocopy the relevant pages inwhich the tutorial questions are contained, than to pin my hope on something as idealistic as someone would take the trouble to return my precious.
ohh...my precious...
my precious...
my PRECIOUS!
